Real Estate Professionals, You Probably Know One

There are a lot of real estate professionals, you probably know one. They are out there today. Good and not so good. Weather investors or broker/agents, chances are you may already know one from within your own social circle.

You can get referrals from neighbors, friends and family members. Or you can use tools like Google to find good investors in your area, just be careful and ask a lot of questions. You can use Trulia’s Find an Agent Directory to help you find recommended agents.

You can go to my web site at and I can help you in any situation you may be in, from Pre-Foreclosure, Probate, Bankruptcy, Divorce etc.etc. and most of the time I will buy your house with cash. Here is one word of caution.

Don’t pick someone so close to you that you can’t have a serious “straight talk” business conversation with.  You need someone with whom you are not uncomfortable disagreeing with. And keep in mind that this person will at some point, will become quite intimate with your entire financial picture.

You are going to be spending a lot of time with the investor or agent, so his or her style had better be compatible with yours. Do you need someone easygoing or someone aggressive?Personally, I am a self-employed aggressive investor and I buys houses in Dallas and have been doing so since 2001.

Most people like working with me, but there are those who also appreciate not being bothered at every turn or change of plans. For me, that’s not a problem, as I have dealt with many styles and types of property sellers in my 15 years in business.

Still home sellers ask me how I perform or not perform. My simple answer is always, I Buy Houses in Dallas/Fort worth and I will close on your house as I have closed on over 800 other houses since 2001. There has not been (1) property that I did not close on. Simple reason is that I use multiple exit strategies, which allows me to sell the house often before it even closes.

So either way you go, choose the most qualified person for the job that you think you’ll work well with. The ideal person for you is an experienced professional who knows your market. Acts in an ethical manner, answers all of your questions. Address your concerns and most important, will listen to you and be your teammate throughout the entire process. Real Estate Professionals, You Probably Know One.

Here are 10 questions that you ask your real estate professional before you hire them to help you with your home search.

  1. What percentage of your clients are buyers (vs sellers)?
  2. In which neighborhoods do you primarily work?
  3. Will I be working with you or handed off to someone else other than you? In other words, will you handle all aspects of my transaction or will you delegate some task to a sales associate or administrative assistant? A knowledgeable assistant can be invaluable, but you want to make sure you can connect with your investor, broker/agent.
  4. Do you work full-time or part-time as a real estate investor?
  5. What number of homes have you closed on in my neighborhood?
  6. How many other buyers are you representing now? How many sellers? Hint: the busiest investor or broker often are the most efficient.
  7. Is your license in good standing? You should check an agent’s certification yourself with your state’s Department of Real Estate . Many state provide this information online.
  8. How many years of education and experience do you have? Experience and continuing education typically make for better investors.
  9. Are you also a broker and/or Realtor agent?
